Scattered Trees "Sympathy"

"Bury the Floors" is a nice minimalistic piano song with lovely harmonies and kept in time by tambourine before drums come in around three minutes. "A Conversation (About Death on New Year's Eve)" is a lovely song of forgiveness and hopelessness that just begs for sympathy. You "Love and Leave" me, wait, you never loved me so you just leave. This song sounds like it is about about a relationship not meant to be, so it is kept in secret and then is just forgotten. As she walks away, his heart just wakes him up from the dream that he has been in, which now gives way to a nightmare in the final minute that picks up and has him realize he may be crazy."Four Days Straight" may have you clapping your hands while you sing "oh no we both have broken hearts," in this very upbeat song with some nice guitar and keys. "Sympathy" is a gift given to those only who deserve it, and this song's light string blanket on the bed percussion and Eisland's vocals don't need it because they're part of a bed, but it is nice though. Just give me "Five Minutes" to find the words to say about this song; the song in the beginning, especially the vocals remind something About A Girl, but slower. The keys sound real nice, but the finish is where it's at."Where You Came From" seem to ba a somber place of depression, and the only thing to soothe it's ferocity is the light strumming of the acoustic guitar and those lovely hamonies. "I Swear To God" that this is a real sentimental song about the death of Nate Eisland's father as he calls for the heavenly father even if it's backed by some upbeat bass, guitar, drums, and keys. I am "On Your Side," I hope you're on mine; this acoustic guitar and Eisland's vocals singing of playing music louder so he does not have to hear her cry, and that things must change. They do, as now that whirring synth comes in for a few seconds . If i needed to arouse someone's sympathy with only five songs I would choose: Bury The Floors, Four Days Straight, Five Minutes, I Swear To God, and On Your Side.
