This song with this quicker, and subtly funky strum that may have your heart beating a little "Faster" as it relays a known fact that seeing someone you love may have have your heart rate running 75 in a 60 bpm lane as some horny speed bumps greet the listeners at the checkpoints."Modern Love" is so different than how it was before, but this reggae tinged, piano rockin song with lyrics"I've been getting' used to liars/They sing me love songs/Store-bought words/They make promises/Like politicians/So we stumble/N we disconnect/Over and over again/This modern love/Is not enough." "Love Comes Tumbling Down" with it's catchy and hip beat and synchronized piano notes. This is one song that gets better as the song moves toward the end; no, not because it's getting closer to being over. Maybe we can start Dancing In the Dark in the "Room @ The End of the World" which will have them fix their mistakes. "Kiss Quick" has a sound that would rival U2 with the slight strumming ambience and beat that gets a little louder after the first minute. Please show me "Mercy" because this handclapping, and the funk bass have me dancing on this catchy hook "cause I'm no shape/to do what's right/I see up as down and black as white/it makes me dizzy I come apart/all this love love love in the dark."This is one of those songs that get better with each subsequent listen; the bridge then leads to more land. "Kept" has this real nice riff, and sailing strumming which comes to a climax with some horns, cello, and the hand drum. Sometimes one just wants to "Run" to someone they love where they are so much in love their legs turn to jelly and they just want to make a sandwhich or maybe it just might be better if their heart Shattered; and Sugarland may or may not be featured on this track with this driving beat, catchy chorus that won't turn the car around, but may turn him on, and subtle bass that cannot be ignored."The Queen of (K)nots" seems a lot more rocking than some of the other songs on this record, it's really nice, but still has me calling S.O.S; the drum pattern does anyway. which has an astmospheric rhythm that also makes it sound like another stadium rocker that has a gliding beat and soaring guitar shimmer and solo that may "Drop To Hold You." Because there is no good news on the TV, and cars keep drinking gasoline, screen why don't we just stay at the "Bottom of the Sea" with quick paced marimba and this lovely acoustic and piano? If I could only choose five songs that emphasize the strength of "Modern Love" beisdes first single and title track they would be: Room @ the End of the World, Mercy, Kept, Run, and Queen of (K)nots.
