The "Acts of Man" can be cruel, but this song is hauntingly beautiful that you may forget what evil man can be capable of. As "Winter Dies" another favorite song is born with that flute, and beautiful harmonies and vocals, fuzzy solo, and hornlike. I will walk on this "Small Mountain" and proclaim I have nothing to say; I make nonsense of words, my prowess of explaining songs is nil. The percussion, and the guitar, woodwind sound so much better on this mountain, and standing on the mountain lyrics such as these "Poor lands will grow/ Among the weeds among the roads/And all are anxious for song and dance/That will sometimes get old" have more power t han just standing on flatland.I want to understand the "Core of Others" because although we may be different, there are similarities that bring us closes yet others want nothing to do with certain people. It is my good "fortune" to have listened to this beautiful music, and only the "Rulers, Ruling All Things" have captured my attention, and if that wasn't enough the "Children of the Grounds" is even better. The former has bass trying to control that of the guitar, but yet again those harmonies and those notes prevent the bass from ruling the song; it's audible, but is not in control the whole time. That short instrumental passage around 2:54 gives a nice break from those somber, and at times, depressing vocals. The latter is a little quicker and has excellent picking and harmonies, very catchy, and the beat sounds as if it might be from earlier r&B music. This song has more energy than those of the previous trackwhichwere beautiful, but dreamy, and could be used as lullabies "Bring down, bring down/All thoughts of greatness/And leave all to be/Sound and nothing more/ Pray for all to end/And silence be all/Now the joy has burned out and it's gone/But I don't know where." It seems as if they had to "Bring Down" the energy level for this track. With more lovely harmonies and "The Horn" who apparently was not availab... nevermind, he's just late. The recorder you'll have to go. This track starts a little grungy with a great starting riff, and has more energy than the previous song, as well as those tsh tsh tsh pit pat da dum.The title track drops the folk tag toward the end and plays a mean fuzzed solo as theat harmonious flute plays."I was always taught to worry about things/All the many things you can't control." My head is stuck "In The Ground," and I can no longer think of what I should say. If I had to choose several song i would tell you to check out The Acts of Man, Winter Dies, Rulers Ruling All Things, Children of the Grounds, and the Courage of Others
