This is a project that has the group responding to popular songs of the 60s to present. “Creeque Allies” is something that their Mamas and Papas may be proud of. The next one is a response to Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” and is more mellow, the arrangement is similar, but instead of guitar they use piano, and they wipe off all the punk-pop attitude? Or do they? Maybe the creation of this response is pure “punk.” It is nice especially when the spell out “G.I.R.L.F.R.I.E.N. (You Know I’ve Got A),” but I’m not sure if it's more than just a novelty. The Horns and the rolling piano in “(I’m So) Waldo P Emerson Jones” have me ready to partake in the “Scarborrough Affaire” which is annoying this girl who has put up with stupid stuff. there is cute little xylophone notes and bass, and this song has me singing I forgot the lyrics be-fore, Oh,Oh, Oh. Hey, “Billy’s Genes” don’t lie. Just look at the girl who thinks that you are the one, but ”You left us in such a mess/No need for a paternity test/More than just an educated guess/You broke more than just a young girl's hear/My mother always told me/You, not me, were the mistake/She never regretted the chance she had to take.” The song is maintained by this rocky organic synth, and the beat that is similiar to that of it's father Billie Jean along with the touch of horns, and taken in the perspective of the son of mr tilt.A response to Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right” says do not “Think Twice (It‘s Not Alright.)” The distinct delivery of Eddie Argos makes the songs even more charming, because some of the songs you know, but it’s good to hear someone else’s interpretation that is not exactly a cover. Hey It’s Jimmy Mack! “Did you do this to make me jealous?/Singing songs about other fellas? Hey, it's Jimmy Mack/Yeah, I heard your track/ And if that's your attitude/I'm never coming back.” It seems that instrumentals recall an old funk, and or r&B song that should be accompanied by handclaps, but instaed just lowers the energy level, and is filtered through piano; the vocals, and lyrics seem to be more powerful than the instrumentals. This piano has us rocking the piano as a guitar because “He’s A Rebel.” “He’s such a p***/no he’s just insecure” this song takes both point of views of a guy that thinks he’s much better than he is, and the girls adore him; there is a side guys don’t know “I'd like to see it, but he just all show/…You like the way he treats you, why should we put up with him, too?” She takes the money when I’m in need, but where’s the coal when you need the heat? “Coal Digger” is a play on Kanye’s “Gold Digger,” but other than the lyrics does not sound like it too much, there are horns but they’re not as punchy or even the same notes. They take on Frank Sinatra’s “MY Way” with “My Way (is Not Always The Best Way)” that has the piano note that there is Always Something There To Remind Me. I know I’ve heard this song before, but am not sure where, if only I used “Superglue” to remember. “I can be needy if you need me to be/But we both know that's not good company/So I hope you believe me when I say I'm capable/I'm capable of grown up stuff and loads of things that I just can't think of/I'm capable, I'm capable/Well, that's debatable” when you “Walk Alone.” this piano syas The Sky's The Limit while the organ keeps it grounded. If I had five songs to fix I might: Creeque Allies, Think Twice (It's Not Alright), Coal Digger, Superglue, and Walk Alone.
