"Eulogy "starts it off real nice and says although we can't always get paid to do what we want, we can try, and this confessional "Well, I haven't always been a perfect person, /and I haven't done what mum and dad had dreamed/but on the day I die I'll say: /"At least I f**** tried!" /and that's the only eulogy I need." Peggy Sang The Blues" in this piano bar rocker that makes the strongest statement here as it tells Peggy "It doesn't matter where you come from, /It matters where you go /No-one gets remembered in this listless life /For the things they didn't do." "I Still Believe" in a song that believes in the power of rock and roll & that it could save us all in this very upbeat acoustic-led track with prominent beat, harmonica, and a bass whose multiplying shoes who might as well sing "you're the one that I love ooh ooh ooh." In this beautiful acoustic song with strings he dedicates the "Rivers" of England and the island that he came from. "I Am Disappeared" is about not living your life where you may be working to the point where there is no differentiation between day and night and I don't know if this helps, but "I keep having dreams of things I need to do/Of waking up and not following through/It feels like I haven't slept at all." Beware of stealing the land of an English man or the "English Curse" will be put upon you and the first born son will die before having a chance to be born. When life gets rough it's probably best to tread easily and keep "One Foot Before The Other" which sounds a little bit different than the rest of the cd; it has more attitude, and sounds a litlle heavier, almost metallic, it's really cool it just seems a little out of place. "If Ever I Stray" too far from the subject could you please redirect me? It has somre punchy horns and a killer ending; a very powerful anthem for those that seem lost, and a how-to bring them back . The next song is about a "Wessex Boy" returning to the place from whence he came even when everyone that he knows is gone that has a nice hip/hophi-hat heavy percussion and a beautiful chorus of people singing. Have you ever been working on something so long that "Nights Become Days?"That has happened once or twice ; the song is a nice heartfelt acoustic that may lead to "Redemption" which is a song of trying to prove to your loved one you will not dissapoint them; it has a great rhythm section and piano. At first listen "Glory Hallelujah" may seem like the perfect atheist anthem because he denounces the existance of Heaven, God,the devil, and H*ll, but the you read lyrics such as this: "So just accept that there's an end game and we haven't got much time/And then in the here and now we can try and do things right/Forget about the crazy things that people have believed/And think of wondrous things that normal people have achieved." He did not deliberatly tell evreyone to stop believing in what they believe, but to start to believe in themselves. If I had to choose 8 bones that I would keep they would be: Eulogy, Peggy Sang The Blues, I Still Believe, I Am Disappeared, One Foot Before The Other, If Ever I Stray, Wessex Boy, and Redemption.
