Darkest Hour "The Human Romance"

The Human Romance begins with a beautiful and ominous piano solo in "Terra Noctunus." The song is as brutal as it sounds as the fire starts with this awesome riff, and soon the flames start to catch at wild fire at :23 on command of the man who also can outdo any steam engine, John Henry, as "The World Engulfed in Flames." The next track is about the battle with your feral instinctual side "I don't show what you already know /I'm plagued with relief /Out in plain view for all to see/They'd never believe /Compelled to separate the needs /From all you've wanted the world to see" in"Savor the Kill." The pounding drumsstart the next track and the solo...or duo around 1:54 leading us to the pounding bridge and the screaming confession "And I've never known the difference/Between man and swine'Of rabid sex so self-aware/It happens all the time." The song is about how when it comes to needs of the body there is not much difference between "Man & Swine." The next song starts in typical metal fashion with a start stop riff, screaming,a group vocal passage "You've known the secret all along/Never stayed where you belong/A battleground that you adore/A heavy heart in a savage world" later to be followed by piano, and back to the screams, chorus, and then ending with another nice riff. Mostly drums and screaming while at times the riff is not audible, a fast pace and screaming solo that's real nice makes "Your Everyday Disaster" better than once thought. Their sound is "Violent by Nature," but on this song they are more melodic, even with the screaming, those quick pounding drums, and this really cool solo. "You don't know metal, you're a flipping idiot." Since I cannot say that this song is good I will keep it in "Purgatory;" let's see fast pace, screaming, killer solo, and this huge sound "And through the depths of oblivion/Lies your living salvation." This riff is killler, a little poppier and reminds me of the H*ll Song, but better. It has a great breakdown, solo and drumming on this song that is "Severed Into Seperates". This "Wound" has an ominous message about someone stuck in their ways that only benefit them and no one else,or so they think, because in the big picture it is really just hurting them and their growth of character. Terra Solaris is an extraordinary instrumental that starts with piano, undulating guitar, tappin percussion, then it goes into a nice riff and tempo change around 2:30, and then at 4:15 starts another nice strings and guitar part. Drums change it at around 5:56, speed changes at 6:24, and it goes back to the start before changing again. "Beyond The Life You Know" the speed starts quick, and I like the sound after 1:40 where it slows down. There is still screaming, but he's ticked. It has a nice ending phase after 3:23. The "Hierarchy of Heathens"could have easily made it on the record, and has great stuff, I will say this and you will probably be soooooooooo ticked off...BUT...part of this song reminds me of Turning Tables, but seriously it should have been on the disc instead of a bonus track. If I had a metallic lover and wanted some music to..just kidding I don't do that shizz, but anyway: Terra Noctunus, Savor The Kill, Love As a Weapon,Your Everyday Disaster, Violent By Nature, Severed into Seperates, Terra Solaris, and Hierarchy of Heathens.
