Taylor Momsen has a great voice for rock and a snarky attitude that bleeds through her delivery. "My Medicine" has some classic rock swagger that has her asking who has taken my medicine, I can't get . "Since You're Gone" the funky bass, the percussion, and that snarky attitude that Momsen delivers makes for a killer kiss-off. Strings leads into this metallic riff and great drumming, which then to a string laden passage that has contributing vocals from Ben Phillips, and ends on a riff that reminds me of Dulcimer Stomp. Oh my gosh the instrumentals and attitude just "Make Me Wanna Die," or maybe it's just this relationship she's in when she looks through her lover's eyes and feels she will never be good enough. Do you have a light? Nevermind, I'll just use this song to "Light Me Up" when I'm down; it's basically about accepting her for who she is. "Zombie" has real cool riff and sounds epic with the bass, guitar, and the drums working together, and my favorite of the bunch say that those just walking through existance with no ambition or drive, and are just going through the motions are zombies."Just Tonight" will use the I "Miss Nothing;" has this great bass and driving percussion, also adorned with some bells, and the chorus sounds a little dreamy, but yeah, it's just great. I like how there is a little word play "I am misused like I wanted to/Be not your slave/ Misguided, high-minded/I'm missing the train." Ok, it looks like I'm "Goin' Down," remember that attitude I was talking about, well it's back and this time she acts as a seductress "in a confessional to a pastor where she killed and gave the boy who broke her heart a circumcision. There are great instrumentals in this song, all around especially the driving bridge."Perhaps there is something that we could work out/I noticed your breathing is starting to change/We could go in the back behind all these stacks of bibles/And get out of this cage." Let's just say that it considering what has happened in the last few years or has been revealed what has been going on makes some of the lyrics pack a bigger punch. and This next song is a more sentimental one, but not without heart as she "reminsices" of a relationship with a guy 10 years her senior, and in a state between Elvis and suicide she says she would do it all again; even after Jesus or Rock N roll could not save her, she has "Nothing Left To Lose." In the sentimentality meter "You" is a ten with it's acoustic strumming, strings and those heartfelt vocals. "Factory Girl" is meant to rock your socks off, and get you ready to party with pounding drums, and a great rocking riff and unforgettable chorus. IF I had only 6 lighters I would use: SinceYou're Gone, Make Me Wanna Die, Zombie, Miss Nothing, Going Down, and Factory Girl.
