"Tell 'Em" that we like to roll with catchy drum beats and a guitar riff made of gum (it sticks in your head). Percussive cymbal tapping, auditorium "We Will Rock You" drumming mentality, and lyrics like this "Pick up my feet there /I feel the cool air /The breeze is nice now /I'll tell you right now /I sip my kool-aid" have the "Kids" going crazy. "Riot Rythm" has you wanting to dance while listening to those "Infinity Guitars," might have you air guitar to the groove, as you listen to her ticked off vocal delivery, almost shouting, and the hi-hatellis keeping the persistance of the guitar going until about 1:50 when it's shot to heck. We know that lyrics in this song don't "Run The Heart," but that distortion making the beat seem like it's pumping a lot more blood than it actually is does. Dear "Rachel," please do not go to the beach, instead could you possibly just sit down to talk because I have no idea why I am crying, but those tears attack me in my slumber; You know? I could be allergic to that fuzzzy synth which could be making my eyes water! "Rill Rill" is probably the longest track off here at 3:49 (ok, tied with the next track) and has some nice acoustic strumming, which is a good change of pace:"You're here to win, friend/Click, click, settle up see you on the moon then/You're all alone friend/Pick up the phone then/Ring, ring call them up/Tell them about the new trends." Jack and Jill went up the hill, but the "Crown on the Ground" has this distorchestra of horns, guitar, and synth that fire to kill(those ears). Let's give 'em "Straight A's" for effort, because this short song packs a punch with the distortion, and the screaming synth and vocals. "A/B Machines" has us on the fence; if only we could give an A-, oh yeah! we can. The handclap led beat along with the surrounding percussion keep the song afloat, as the guitar keeps the board surfing the waves, and krauss' vocals have "Got my A machines on the table/ Got my B machines in the drawer." Since you have all been good boys and girls, why don't we give you some "Treats." Can the lyrics have to do with their past? "heavens deaf drummer boy/heavy metal band sing with me/deep sleep we can march to the beat/heavy metal band deal with me" with this loud cymbal crash and these wooping synths, handclaps, and (easy on the ears) metallic riff. IfICouldOnlyChoose5SongsI WouldChoose: Tell 'Em, Kids, Infinity Guitars, Run The Heart, and Crown on the Ground. I do basically like all of the tracks though.
