"Slogans" are something like "and everyone that you meet is not better than you." I'll try to remember that, but it will be tricky. After that Indie/Punk anthem we slow it down "Roll Bus Roll" as the wheels on the bus go round and round which has me thinking of that song. His delivery reminds me of Kimya Dawson, which could have been influenced by Jeffrey Lewis, or reverse, but I'm thinking it's the former. It has me thinking of a "Tire Swing." "If Life Exists(?)" than most of us have not found it because we are too busy working for things we don't need, too busy to take time to live our lives because there is so much to do and so little time, but if we are doing what we like to do, then aren't we living life? and enjoying it? It has been said that if you are doing what you love than it is not a waste of time. Currently I feel like I am not living life, but trying to get something done. I like writing these, but it feels like I'm just letting these last few days pass me by; it is a labor of love, as well as a love hate kinda thing. I look at the clock and say It's that time already? Holy Shoot!! "Whistle Past The Graveyard" is a fast paced number delivered quickly paced vocals and nice whistling that illustrates the tension one feels when walking past one at night, all alone. "To Be Objectified" is slow and introspective, quiet. A nice break if you will, and his delivery sounds more normal. "The Upside Down Cross" starts with this distortion, quick beat, sax, and keys; just f'n awesome. Then around two minutes has Lewis introducing the song with title and author. the whole song follows this percussive quick beat. This line is nice: "I'm Trying to save my marriage and the manatee" which is sung with group vocals, and some piano is thrown in with a great solo. Just a great long song at 8:27. "Good Old Pig, Gone To Avalon," but come back soon. Instead of a violin I will have a guitar solo to reveal my sorrow. "It's Not Impossible" to find something annoying in me or these whateverthef_-_youcallthem. It is a slower guitar strummed number that has him shown that even though his love was not owed him, he was shown what was need to be shown. An ode to a moocher from the future, a mini theme, if you will, who wasa robotic time traveling female who played with the hearts of king Neptune and many other poor souls while disrupting the time-space contiuum. The sound has spacey distortion and bloops to give it that needed effect, as well as the sounds used in an old sci-fi movie, but not as creepy. IFICouldOnlyChoose7TracksIWouldChoose: Slogans, If Life Exists, Whistle Past The Graveyard, To Be Objectified, THE UPSIDE DOWN CROSS, I'ts Not Impossible, and Mini Theme: Moocher From The Future.
