Daniel Merriweather "Love and War"

I think if you want some heartfelt delivery, and you get a good amount, "For Your Money" on the first track, but the funk-step bass and drums set on groove make the "Impossible" palatable; the strings and horns are a nice touch, Merriweather does have a good voice too. Ok, it's time for a "Change" and the hip hop beat with the flowing piano provide a nice one; and there are some horns and rap verses by Wale! "Givin myself to you,is like givin myself to a chainsaw./You keep cuttin me open why/Is that the only thing that your good for." I guess nothing is gonna change with this "Chainsaw," but again, if you use one just be aware of the power they hold. Those horns cannot protect you all the time. A slower heartfelt number is next as the "Cigarettes" just fill the room with smoke "I used to speak of old regrets, maybe I spoke too soon/I thought that I did my best, now I know that isn't true /'cause my clothes smell like cigarettes, and they used to smell like you". Daniel Merriweather kinda sounds like Stevie Wonder as he paints the song "Red," which almost reminds me of "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" with those strings and of course his vocals, which sound similiar; on this song the similarity is more prominent. "Could You" forgive me for loving this old school funk  throwback so much I keep it in the pocket? I'm "Not Giving Up," and this driving beat directs the heart to unbridled tenacity, and maybe that touch of horns with those falsetto backers push the car to it's destination when it runs out of gas, which it does not,but it's better to be safe than sorry. I'm "Getting Out" of here, I cannot stand it anymore. F! "Look what you made me do, i was just about to save the world but i forgot about askin' you/look at what you made me say/I'm using crosswords on the radio tellin you to change your ways." The next song is about "Water and a Flame," which features Adele who steals the show and may even Set Fire To the Rain on this one. I would probably say that I am one of those who "Live By Night," and it is another song to listen to when down or want to have a remorseful scene after a break-up. "Giving Everything Away For Free" is another heartfelt, soulful, remorseful(?) track. "The Children" in the beginning adresses sinners who go to church, but are only doing so to make themselves feel better. It's a nice song ,but that is what screams at me most about it. If the cause and effect had only several survivors : is it Impossible to Change those Cigarettes, Could You continue Not Giving Up or Getting Out before the sequel returns with Water and a Flame?
