Against Me! "White Crosses"

The driving pounding of the drumsticks into my arms connecting  "White Crosses" is bittersweet. That hurt, but "Do you remember when you were young/ and wanted to set the world on fire?." Such a catchy chorus, and a great anthem filled with teen and young adult angst as they raise up their fists singing along with "I Was A Teenage Anarchist", and  centers on the virility of youth? Ooooh, may I have my quarter please? "Because of The Shame" I have brought upon my family I will not name them in any of my blurbs out of respect. "Because of the shame I associate with vulnerability/I am numbing myself completely/Can you hear me right now?/I watched your mother bury you today, with tears in her eyes/It wasn't her words that shook me, it was the resemblance you shared." "Suffocation" starts with this great riff and groove that sounds familiar, but makes you want to sing "Homosexual sons of unfulfilled fathers/Divorced from reality, free and young/We were bashing our brains out on a kitchen cabinet/It was a televised crucifixion/Suffocation/Modern life in the western world." Because of this stagnancy of this relationship, I think it's best that "We're Breaking Up!"I was talking about the song, c'mon, I need SOMEONE to read this besides me. "High Pressure Low" is a quick paced singalong, but "Ache With Me"is a song about talking to someone who feels defeated and joining them, so they're not alone."Spanish Moss" ia woahoah-oah catchy song  made for bobbing your head with an nice guitar riff and driving bassline that calls out the drummer to bring out more percussion after 2:40. "Rapid Decompression" is affecting me, I believe it is getting harder to write, but this song is short, but sweet. It has a rockin intro and riff, singalong hook, and has a group yelling at the end."Bamboo Bones" has this reggae beat while not knowing that the song is a rock song and great one at that. "Bob Dylan Dream" starts with some harmonica and violin that basically reveals his dream of being Bob Dylan's friend, and living with his wife in a house Bob Dylan owned, and then mentions all of the things they would do together. That would be cool to have Bob Dylan as a friend.  A rocker with a chorus singing "I know I'm not alone!," maybe because he is looking for someone who feels the same way and he is searching "One By One" to find that one person that understands. "Better Divisions" asks how can we heal them, and "Intellectualism surrenders to ineptitude. /No love lost, no love gained, no common understanding. /Head strong and determined, self obsessed with calloused indifference." These 7 white crosses are bittersweet: Because of the Shame,We're Breaking Up, High Pressure Low, Ache With Me, Rapid Decompression, One By One, and Better Divisions.
