Frank Turner "Poetry of the Deed"

To "Live Fast, Die Old" is a dream that may seem contradictive because the faster you live, the easier you dire? Not really, it is a good old fashioned piano lead rocker with heart and attitude. The next track is a faster rocker that asks us to "..write love songs in C, we do politics in G,we sing songs about our friends in E minor," and asks us to "Try This at Home." To contemplate where our life is going when drinking beer not knowing what lies ahead to this track I dedicate to...Dan? "Pentameter in attack, iambic pulse in the veins/ free verse powered of the street light mains/an Iliad played out without a shadow of doubt" are some of my favorite lyrics in a song that measures life to short to be without poetry, and only sing one song? I don't care how much you love that song, that would drive me crazy listening to the same song over and over again? "Poetry of the Deed" is a singalong that leads us to "Isabel," but the "Fastest Way Back Home" is about preparing for the return of his summer love, mentally and physically, in a piano bar blues track . "And I’ll admit that I am scared of what I don’t understand," nor what I cannot describe and the beat is flying high with pianos all around wishing those days of dreams could fly like a nightingale "But now our hands are soft and weak/and working seven days a week at these salvation schemes that are bound to fail." "Because a man who’d trade his liberty for a safe and dreamless sleep/doesn’t deserve the both of them, and neither shall he keep" to the "Sons of Liberty," and the power of will, the awesome instrumentals, and the message to fight and stand still. The next song is dedicated to "The Road," and even though "I've felt old before my time/...I keep the age away by burning up the miles and by filling up my days/And the nights, a thousand nights I've played, a thousand more to go/before I take a breath, and steel myself for the next one thousand shows." A somber, and slow song written for his parents who believed he was joking when he had said he would pay his bills with his heart on his sleeve, and his fist in the air this "Faithful Son" tends to actually make light of "Sunday Nights" which is a real nice song that makes the dseem better.ay before the beginning of the work week. Oh yeah I forgot, Dear "Richard Divine," I know that suicide seems the way to go telling them you would not be sold, but "the rest of us are cursed but we keep calm and we carry on." Until the end, we try because giving up is suicide and life can be a bumpy ride, but it will get better try not to hide. "Our Lady of Campfires" has taken a "Journey of the Magi" along with Moses, Odysseus, and Balthazar in this one to punch of the latter tracks and a strong slow finish. If I could only choose my favorite deeds written in poetry I would choose Live Fast Die Old, Try This At Home, Poetry of the Deed, Sons of Liberty, Faithful Son, Richard Divine, Sunday Nights, and Our Lady of Campfires.
