Bush "Sea of Memories"

This album may be new, but that doesn't mean it can't bring Sea of Memories with it; old and new. I would have to say the opener brings a techno rhythm through a garage rock filter with a splash of U2, and an interesting drum hiccup found several times in this "Mirror of the Signs." Come as you are, and the rhythm will have you grooving to "The Sound of Winter," and no matter what you do you cannot help, but bob your head, or air guitar at least once during the song. I could listen to this shot of grunge "All My Life," but then I would only hear it once because once is enough; heed my warning and "Beware The Signs." We all wonder what "The Afterlife" will be like, if it exists, and I think this version's punky sound and spunky delivery amidst a little vocal wail which may or may not detract you from liking the song, but it's all good to me. The next song relies on a tender heart, piano  Rossdale's vocals, and "All Night Doctors." PhDs, and even clothes, need not apply; by the sound of it he's just looking for someone to listen, and give him some meds for his aching heart. Rossdale seems to feel a litle better, but we know that the meds did not give him amnesia because he still calls for her in "Baby Come Home. The "Red Light" was enthralling, not bland; and the guitars seemed seemed like a marriage between the edge and the living years ( more upbeat). "She's A Stallion," the drums are driving, I am bobbing..my head. I feel the groove, yeah. I'm in the mood... let's screw. "I Believe In You" casts the fears aside, lets them be known, and just jams like a garage band without a care in the world. The next song is one of those fist pumping anthems that urges you to "stand up for your mistakes/don’t give in to bad breaks": it may have a more laidback vocal delivery, but the instrumentals more than make up for the energy that would be needed for you to feel the urge to "Stand Up." If we just go straight to "The Heart of The Matter" then this useless criticism may be rendered exactly that. Is "Be Still My Love" a dedication to Rossdale's wife? It is a beautiful song all the same, whether it is or not, and it is a fine finish. As a whole it was consistent  and memorable; the 10 year span may have helped their return more than we think.I'm sure not everyone will agree.
