Wolfmother "Cosmic Egg"

It has been said that records that have cosmic in them are spacey, but also boring. Well this one comes with a shot of adrenaline."California Queen" has with this killer riff and fast pace; great instrumentals. "New Moon Rising" made it's debut in "Due Date" featuring Zach Galifanakis and Robert Downey Jr.; it has such a pounding, driving tambo-crash that the guitar riff just works so well with it. "White Feather" gives you those dancing feet with that beat. Remenmber when time was measured and managed by "Sundial?" Well, this song just has one new glory discovered after another, and the story keeps on unfolding as time stands still. How could time not pass by, I've been walking in this glory for what seems like days only to find that as the trip has ended i have been stripped of my love and power, but I resist resorting to evil ways!! "In the Morning" is a nice slow introspective song that says "...there's no need to justify/ everyone has their own way" which really hits home with me because I feel that I have to do exactly that because of the way I do things, and how my personality is. I have to face many assumptions and feel I must justify why I am the way I am and explain my feeling to those that believe my thgoughts are somewhere else instead of the right place. "10,000 Feet" speaks of visitors from above and has this atmospheric distorted vocals and sounds huge with this riff used for an epic. The title track is one of my favorite songs as they get their Black Sabbath on, but with a quick beat and this nice solo in the song. "Far Away" is about a love that critics/people believe will never work, a mis-match made in heaven and in Stockdale's mind hoping this too good to be true relationship, isn't. It has a steady beat and nice riff.  A "Cosmonaut" is bascially an astronaut from Russia, but this one is feels lonely as the only cosmonaut. This "Pilgrim" runs fast, but forgot he was wearing all of those clothes on a hot summer day, so he slows down for a breather. He then takes a couple layers off and runs just as fast, and then runs to his guitar to rock out. I'm trying to keep my "Eyes Open," but this song is putting me to sleep simulating the feeling and anxiety of giving in to that needed slumber when you MUST STAY AWAKE.  The next track has a riff that makes you come "Back Round" for that solo and singalong chorus. "In The Castle" it never looked so distant and far away; oh "Caroline" why can't you tell me why you live this way? It's a great bluesy, heartfelt rock song with good instrumentals. "Phoenix" is fast paced and has them playing for that bird in hopes they will not burst into flames,or maybe that is what is in the "Cosmic Egg." I forgot that "Violence of the Sun" has this jazzy piano and and the rocker's finish with a guitar's tears. This egg had 8 cracks in this record which weren't too serious, but not my favorite: White Feather, Sundial, 10,000 Feet, Cosmonaut, Pilgrim, Eyes Open, Back Round, and Pheonix.
