J Mascis "Several Shades of Why"

Just "Listen To Me." If you are a fan of Mascis you probably will be ticked off at my review so do what you want. He cannot wait to see her, but "It shouldn't take so long/Something that's so real to come along."  All this waiting is killing him, he will wait, but only if he knows it worth it.On the title track, the riff is really nice in the beginning, and some string always helps a song such as this. This seems to be an introspective, contemplative number "There's no peace, little comfort, no one's shoulder/Not a wrinklings of a time that made you colder/I'm not saying much I tried hard that's all I do/Tried and waited then got tired, that's about it/With my time." The next song, "Very Nervous and Love" has him trying to find the courage to say something that the words will not come out "can't speak my mind/I can't even speak/I'm fine/Tell me why'd you go/Tell me 'cause I'm nervous/Take it slow/I don't see you wait/I don't see you coming/It's a dream." A song of love and wondering if that special person that we care for is the one is bascially what "Is It Done" is about. So then can he "Make It Right?" that track has some twang, and a little piano,strings and horns? Did I lose you, did you already go to another entry or homepage? I'm sorry, can you answer me? "Where Are You?" has some nice guitar work, and Mascis has an inviting voice that may take a little taking used to as it's kinda raspy. I feel like I am in "Too Deep" in trouble with some people who read this,which is one of the shorter songs on the record, but serves as a nice springboard for the next track."Can I," say that I like that riff that comes in after three and a half minutes? The whole song is really nice and has him wanting to go back, to go to sleep,free the one who always knows it's a sign. Oh, "I've been lost and lonely, still I made it through/If I lose again then there's nothing to do." "What Happened" to this review? As soon as I started it all shot to heck. "This is Not a review you a8888,you s888." The song has a nice change at the end. As said before his voice is endearing evn with it's rasp. If I had to choose several shades of why they would include: Several Shades of Why, Make It Right, Can I, and What Happened?
