La Roux

I guess to say that this record goes "In For The Kill" at first track with those higher notes would not be much of a stretch, such a lovely voice Elly Jackson has. Does Vincent Price make an appearance in "Tigerlily" as he asks"Have you ever felt like you're being followed?/Or watched the ones that held your stare?/Turned around to see who's behind you to find there's no one there/Lurking in the dark there's someone who breathes you night and day/There's a friend who wants so much more/And if they can't have you, they'll never let you walk away." Ooooh Eerie! Two consecutive kicasers. Why not make it three, Not sure. The synthy ground is not as solid as I thought; I seem to be sinking in the "Quicksand," and while the next song's chorus was catchy, the song doesn't seem as "Bulletproof" when compared to the next track that paints with shades of grays, or "Colourless Colours" in this masterpiece of a song. "I'm Not Your Toy," but it's so fun to play with people's hearts isn't it? Yeah, only for sadistic a-holes and witches. Let's just say the song is fine the way it is and need not be played with or tweaked. I would rather not cover my ears for the next song, but "Cover My Eyes," and that feeling she describes is so universal for those who love that loves someone else backed by a slow carny-synth, and a little elle backing choir.  The next song just whizzed by "As If By Magic," so I can barely describe it, but I didn't hate it. What's with all this "Fascination"with making music? Why are there so many flipping bands ou there, and how come so many cime out of the woodwork each and every year? Maybe their fascination with new sensations, which cause my frustrations. Let's just say the "Reflections Are Protections" that I use.This song is one of my favorites and the bassy-synth, little funky blip solo and harmony are almost as protective as any "Armour Love" could be. I think the lyrics are repetitive because of "Growing Pains" which could be the reason why this review s(_)cks .The songs you should check out are In For the Kill, Tigerlily,Quicksand, Colourless Colors, Cover My Eyes, Fascination, and Reflections are Protections.                                                                                .
