Yeasayer "Odd Blood"

"The Children" must be from another planet because the vocals definately do not sound human, and the song is out of this world. I like the reggae flavor of "Ambling Alp," and the sentiment to "Stick up for yourself, son/Never mind what anybody else done." I think my face looks "Madder Red;" it has this great hooky opening with a ringing riff and coos, which then go into this slow dance bass/beat and another rocking riff. "I Remember" that i had heard a great song, but cannot remember the title. We are "O.N.E." with this dancehall beat, funky bass, steel drums, bloops, and Island sounds and spirits, Hey! but the sentiment of love lost seperates the feeling and act of love. "No/You don't move me anymore/And I'm glad that you don't/'cause I can't have you anymore/But I thought you should know/You don't move me anymore/And I'm glad that you don't/Because I can't take it anymore." Please, "Love Me Girl" starts with a buildup of fizz from the shaken bottle as those strings pull those keys back and forth  causing them to tinkle and you hear someone's breathing,  like Darth Vader, but not as ominous. "Rome" wasn't built in a day, nor can it be somone's posession, but he don't like to listen "Rome is gonna be mine/It's just a matter of/It's just a matter of/It's just a matter of time." It has a real prominent rythym section, nuff said, and very addictive hook. Like there haven't been "Strange Reunions" before this one, but these biting yet simple lyrics just make me laugh(In a good way)"Don't ask me for any favors/And I won't ask how you're doing./Leave me alone/'Cause after all,/Dealing with you is a nuisance./If you could laugh at yourself what difference would it make?/You could ignore Dane cartoons and you wouldn't turn into prey." That and the handclaps that eerie "Mondegreen" is a quick tempo number led by handclaps and a great  riff that leads to a little stumble at 1:50 which then goes right back in the same speed with touches of horns, and has them makin' love until the morning light. Then slows down around 3:31 with this cosmic ending the last minute. "Grizelda" just seems like it ends much too fast, but is a good song to end the record. How many times have I said that? This was a great album like many of the other records I have reviewed, now if i had to choose 5 songs i would have to choose: The Children, Ambling Alp, Madder Red, O.N.E., and Mondegreen.
