Raekwon is a ninja, ready to kick @ss in a cincha with verbal acrobatics and master of his bushido blade tongue, beats and hook that get you'll hung but the lyrics and the prowess are what get you stung. we starrt with "Shaolin Vs Wutang" which features a kung-fu sample and then goes into this ominous violin the next song addresses "Every Soldier in the Hood" armed with this boomerang horn prominent beat as they proclaim "We live the life, Scarfaces and guns, I used to fight for crumbs/Throw an ace, kick the dice and run
Plead your case, you ain't nice as son, I got the drive to win/So where you n****s get your license from?/ Bite an ear, Mike Tyson, uh, that means dough and my nose itch/And coke fiends is blowing they noses/My team got C.R.E.A.M and you know this." The "Silver Rings" are shiny with this nice riff, violin loop, and beat, as well as an ODB sample from "As High as Wu-Tang Get." You Better Watch Out, You better stay fly, cuz when "Chop Chop Ninja" attacks ya , might as well die.; there is a beautiful hook sang by Estelle, some kung-fu sfx, and verses from the Inspectah making sure the verses have no engine trouble. These "Butter Knives" have like this organ, some "Hurricane slammers, earthquake clips and cannons/Back of the building, with the jammers/Live well, eat well, welcome to the Terror-dome sleep well/Who don't like beefing? Keep shells/I flow with the souls of sharks and criminals in they heart/Play parts of this in detail." This "Snake Pond" has some flute and nice verese from raekwon It's "Very good!/Who are you?/We are from the Wu-Tang/Shaolin's the foundation/ From which all kung-fu springs/Buddha's name be praised." If you use "Crane Style," don't forget that beat which reminds me of Jackson Five's I Want You Back and even though it's short, it's nice to Busta Rhymes.I just wanna "Rock N Roll," which has this nice poppy synthesizer going on with a hook sung by Kobe or Jim Jones I'm Not sure. I do not know what it's like to be "Rich and Black," because I'm neither, but Raekwon and Nas do,"I'm rich, black, african/Rocking the golden mack/Shelling leather gucci like it's on my back/Woolie-boxing hoodlum in the trench/ Rinse these n****s, '86 gazels dicing near the fence/Mike tyson's disciple, trifle with my pen it's a rifle." Let's run "From The Hills" listening to this horn driven upbeat track with a hook sung by Raheem Devaughn and Redman is "Reunited, another LP, we're all excited/That reckless eyeballing will get your girl indicted/My touch like Midas, I cramp your style, arthritis/These n***** is food, I eat they food, n****-ritis/Your man don't snooze, insomniac/This The W, the Clan don't lose, you putting hands on who?." I think this will be the "Last Trip To Scotland," because that horn sounds like i'm about to be killed and "Metal exchanges, the hoods a gun range/Everybody's a target, depending on how you aim/Dice games and ice chains, pennants spellin' your name/OG's settin' the wrong example, tellin' the same/Look at Shorty S*** Stain, grew up to be a f****' mess/Before his clique came" or "Come through the hole, n***** is swoopin'/700 shots, all leather gloves, 6 thugs/Two had a mask on, they took 'em off what/We got you now nigga knowin' you down;" former is by Banks and Latter by Raekwon. These "Ferryboat Killaz" have awesome instrumentals. Remember, you have to be up at 8:00 for "Dart School" in the morning; I set the alarm which has those horns, and some maracas"I'm on Rodeo with yae yo, fifty baby hammers/The new shits that blow a building up, crazy damage/If it's priors, I do my own dirt, spray the cameras/So many soldiers, no soft n***** in the slammers/We run wild like 'lo gazelles and baby pandas." My flow is as slow as "Molasses" I take too long to think of something the masters (can s*** on). We got another upbeat horn-driven number and the boss also on the mic. Just Listen to "The Scroll" and you can be part of the the "Masters of Our Fate" which has poignant sample and verses from Raekwon and BlackThought. Ok, b****are/Lessons are learned some/Money are spend some, linked some, earned some./ My eyes tell the hell i return from/..with the homies I never heard from/burn when the urge come/Im living never chilling on the/My tenth shot is ass official as the third one." While "Wu Chant (Outro)" ends with the Ecstacy of Gold. Awesome!! This was a great record, but if I could only have eight shaolin warriors they would be: Every Soldier in the Hood, Silver Rings, Chop Chop Ninja, Crane Style, Rock N Roll, From The Hills, Ferryboat Killaz, and Masters of Our Fate.
