Deftones "Diamond Eyes"

This amazing album starts of with the atmospheric title track that gives you "Diamond Eyes." All hail the "Royal" atmospherics and screams starting of this number, Chino's haunting whispery vocals lead us to the guillotine unbeknownst to us as this quick beat that doesn't agree with the guitar, and in the end cuts our head of with his blood curdling scream, and the instrumentals scream.  Reading the lyrics makes me think that this is about watching internet porn, or watching a hot girl on webcam"I can't tell, but how's this shit's not your fault/B**** you're barbaric, King Kong, get some/Switching CMND just because I can/I like to see you wear it, why can't i stare?" screaming most of the time to illustrate the primal nature of those feeling and anger that one probably will not see them for realon "Cmnd/Ctrl." "You've Seen The Butcher," but you probably will not recognize that they are not all the same with this slow brooding bass groove and a song about this attractive temptress that wants him around her finger so she seductively gets on her knees to crawl into his skull and forever entrap him in this passion for someone who only wants to be famous. "Beauty School" has this percussion that with the riff makes one feel as if they are hovering over the grounds and then gets into an atmospheric wave-crashing slow-motion affair during the chorus, and an extended one at the end. This "Prince" is a blood-thirsty recluse ready to reign terror on any unsuspecting female who trusts his deceitful eyes. "Rocket Skates" is a song that has us running from "Guns, razors, knives/F*** with me" screams Chino on this futile affair as the color of blood is everywhere. "Sex Tape" is really sentimental despite the title and has beautiful harmonies and caught in the waves of passion and an embrace that has become more than just a fling. I'll take the "Risk" and say that this song is about loving someone so much that you will put your heart on the line for this relationship. The song has an awesome sound that does not use Sound Effects and Overdramatics. Time to dial "976-EVIL" because this suffering in the head and the vocals sound as if they're in pain, almost as if "This Place is Death" starts with nice ringing keys and clean vocals it sounds a little poppier than some of the earlier tracks, but is all good."Do You Believe" has this ominous hornlike in back an this tshtshtshtshdumdum dadum and this hopleless and pessimistic view of love. I see "Ghosts" which are as haunting as they sound, and the vocal delivery, wailing, sirening, bass  and atmosphere only make it creepier. This record was much better than i thought it would be, and f it nobody reads this so I'm going to not choose any tracks to listen to its all good, but if this diamond was only available for 4 songs I liked the  least they would be:You've Seen The Butcher, Prince, Rocket Skates, and 976-EVIL.
