You Love Her Coz She's Dead
Love can be blind, love can be atypical, love can be dangerous, love can be indescribable, love can break down barriers, and so much more, but if you have no love in your heart what are you living for? But what if who you loved lives no more? Or what if You Love Her Coz She’s Dead? It starts with this tale of a girl who is hot as h***, but has a lousy personality. Another girl, quite shy, sings in a band, likes the electronic-synthpop, autotune heavy sound of this band and others. We will call her Jamie, she had a crush on Queen B****; absolutely odd if you can see. This girl, Queen B, was compared to a praying mantis, and would go from one boy to the next until she had climbed her way to the top of the food chain. It wasn’t that hard, but she made all of her victims that way before it was too late. They would often take “Leap of Desire I” would not recommend because they drown in lust, only to kill themselves. We’ll call her Si, short for sirens, which lured sailors to their early grave trying to find the source of the heavenly sound as legend has it. Jamie’s friends disliked the fact that her crush treated her and everyone (practically) like…what else? Saturdays she could not see Si, but even though she could only see her for an hour on Sunday she preferred “Sunday Best.” Not only were the club-organs full of energy and the beats ready for fist bumping, but Si was a different person wearing her dress. She went to church with her family every week, and although this church was a tad untraditional, it was not without its standards. The best part was the canoodling synth before the three minute mark. What? Oh, yes. Part of the reason was because she wanted her parents to believe she was as sweet as they thought she was, but also because she didn’t have to show off in front of her “friends” because they were true prudes; Si only acted like one. The question was if she liked Jamie, or her cliché boyfriend. This was the first time she asked Jamie to spend time with her after Church. Jamie immediately accepted, and they proceeded to have a great time. As luck would have it, her lackeys saw them together and to save face she had to Smear “Mud” all over Jamie’s dress; kind of like the distortion, blips, and reverb were smeared over beautiful harmonies in the song. Was it Si’s intention all along to coincidentally run into her “friends” only to publically humiliate and betray Jamie because Si revels in others’ misery? We may never know. The sound of this next song is full of a ringing, which psychologically causes tension and blood to circulate in the feet for the dancefloor; the second half is more poppy and dance friendly, which is part of her “Legacy.” She tried to kill herself that night, but it failed, and instead “crossed the sands into another land.” It was only in her head, but she did briefly cross the other side before waking up in a hospital bed. She feared she was “Blinded,” but it was only that she was blindfolded to protect her eyes after surgery. Let’s say that one of her favorite songs had a whole new meaning. We won’t stray too far from her story because it would be too long, but I guess you should know that her parents were not the most open-minded people, they were kinda high-strung, and now you’re thinking why are they allowed to go to a church like that? Simple. Her family doesn’t know that it is all a front, because only teens and young adults are allowed in that church; they inspected to make sure everything was worthy of the lord’s prescence, and the “church” passed the test. So as I was saying, Jamie’s parents freaked out, and she had to stay there longer than scheduled to make sure she was mentally sound. Her eyes were still covered, so she had no clue if anyone came, and she slept a lot because she had nothing else she could really do. The music? How was she able to listen to it? At her friends’ houses. She felt she was about to go crazy because she was practically "living" in an asylum with a different name. She wondered what Si was doing, and could not help but being a little angry and simultaneously suicidal. Will anyone help her out of here? What about her “friends” she thought? The next track scored something quietly deafening; if you saw a video accompaniment you could not tell that “This s a Raid.’ That had to be one of my favorites, and not only because of the horn-infused sound at midpoint and its climax. The next song is full of anxious energy and shouty vocals because when they thought to rescue Jamie they did not think of the consequences; well it’s time to “Pull out the Nails.” It took a few hours before they knew she was gone. It’s “funny” how her last sight was the blood on her wrist, and now she is seeing a rainbow of lights over a dance-club playing these distortion-ridden synths with enough space to surf on. Si? How is she? Does she feel remorse for what she did? She’s a heartless phony, so forget her. She was back in the right type of mood, but would be more careful when taking a “Leap of Desire II” to be exact. She was Bi, if you did not know, but slowly she was becoming more sexual (homo), and there is no problem. She had such a bad taste in her mouth from all of the guys at her school; the majority of them were douches and cocky bass turds. She can be slightly impulsive, and it was reasonably so. Everybody at school found out what had happened, rumors spread like wildfire, and her parents were last to know. They were overly disgusted with her behavior after the escape, and the secrets she kept; what was weird was they seemed to be more furious over her musical tastes than her orientation considering their almost evangelical tendencies. It could just be that they were still in shock over that still numb to the truth. When the secrets of her life at school were traded for the secrets she kept at home, she felt she had “Nowhere to Run To.” The humiliation was much worse than that faithless Sunday, and much more unbearable because now she had to pay for those secrets on both sides a thousand fold. She had to figure out what she could do to end this, and it was clear. “Woke up found myself/another dream/And all the people staring down at me.” IT was no dream, and surreal to see yourself at your own funeral. She wondered and hoped, as she also felt dread when she wished Si would come visit her dead. There was no ‘Softer Cell’ that cushioned her anguish, that love that she felt. The funeral ended, and Si never came; Jamie’s spirit was broken and full of disdain. Well, Si we may never know, but we found this. “An empty shell/A tired heart leaving/A softer cell/(Under the sea).” Best Tracks: Sunday Best, Mud, Blinded, This is a Raid, Pull Out The Nails, Nowhere To Run To, and Softer Cell.
