Flo Rida "Wild Ones"
When it came to albums, Flo Rida has always been a fan of the singles. Singles are important because they promote a collection of songs which took years, or at least some deal of effort, to write, and money; usually a great deal of it. He does have a knack for knowing what samples will also work the best, but this is an album we are reviewing, not just singles; if we were reviewing singles he would have a higher rating, but I digress. Is this more of an album, or collection of hit singles and duds? We’ll find out after the break. Excuse me while I “Whistle” while I work. Caught me! I cannot really do that, but maybe it is a good thing, because you may catch yourself repeating the refrain even after the song has been over for an hour. The first two lines may have some haters finally agree with him in the next song: “I like crazy, foolish, stupid/Party going wild, fist pumping music.” I will not call it stupid, to be respectful, but just music without much substance, but that is the point. He said it. I Love “Wild Ones” for several reasons: Sia is featured in the song allowing for more mainstream attention, and the hook is phenomenal. Also, I cannot ignore similarities between this and someone like you. "Let It Roll" has a nice shot of funk, donated by either an Earl or a King; it matters not because it makes the song much better. This song gives me such a “Good Feeling” listening to it! Ok, you knew where this was going, but who wouldn’t with this song? Avicci and Etta James are both channeled in this hit single to give you that pick me up. "In My Mind (Part 2)” the instrumentals sound like they might break your heart. I am also traveling through a portal, but not with life-size time-traveling hamsters, because that I saw on T.V. Maybe this next song does not hit the “Sweet Spot,” but it might give you a craving for something sweet. Did I really just right that? Who Knows? You might even throw up because it’s too sweet. “Thinking of You” is one of those relationship songs; made for contemplation instead of break dancing. The hook is so euprhoric, but “I Cry” because Flo takes a shot at the bingo players and takes it one step further transforming Brenda Russell into a chipmunk. His verses are better though, if you must know! I will “Run” to, instead of away from, you; I cannot say you would do the same. Can you wait a second while I throw a short pity party? Ok, Not only does Redfoo make you LMFAO, but brings some of the anthem for party rock into the mix; While we are speaking of rock, you can say some Bryan Adams is present in this song. May sarcasm arise I will respond with: yes, we’re still talking about rock. At the end of the day this may have been his most focused albums to date. Practically all of the song can be singles, so congratulations! “There’s only one flo, and one rida.” If I could whistle this is where I would.
