Noah and the Whale "Last Night on Earth"

The opening song's strongest statement is one we have heard before, but "Your life is your life gotta live like it's your life." You can live for others, but live yours as well. "Tonight's The Kind of Night" where you can realize that everything could change, or just enjoy the scenery of the night sky; I can just call it star gazing. Tom Petty anybody? Maybe it is the night I can learn a new word that is revealed in the chorus, or just learn that "L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N" Ohhhhh, I get it! The sound of the song reminds me of the funky acoustic style that Everclear sometimes bring into focus. This next song is definitely not a 'Wild Thing' when it comes to sound, but the girl that is sung about makes me scared. Ager can often cause irrational and dangerous behavior, even more so when that person has anger management issues, or is just so sick of smelling the bullspit on someone's breath; there sounds like there is a subtle reggae touch, or something that could be mistaken for it by pundits like me. The power of music, and how it can keep you young; or just the power of rock 'n' roll, and those who can believe in it. A song that proclaims they would 'Give It All Back' just to do it again in this retrospective journey demonstrating that power; with a xylo as the star in coldplay-esque tune. I was a loser? Oh, yeah..that's 'Just Me Before We Met,' oh and lookie here..Still am. No matter how amazing someone is they cannot always work miracles, but I'm not sure if you would want to...is that being cocky? Let me just contemplate my life under the 'Paradise Stars' as this piano goes solo. They say that good things come to those who wait, so is it stupid that I'm 'Waiting For My Chance To Come?' I'm not just sitting on my butt doing nothing, even though the folky-southern twang of this song is perfect for doing so.It's so easy to give up " 'Cause it's hard to feel like, you're worth something in this life," but that is why you must try to make a change, preferably positive, in someone else's life.  Just what is 'The Line' that divides cheating between getting even; even if the guy may be a drunkard, does that means he still deserves it? It does not explicitly say she does anything, but you can tell that something isn't right, and i'm not talking about the sound. I guess it's fitting that an album with a title such as this would end with a song like 'Old Joy.' Some of the best songs: Life is Life,Tonight's The Kind of Night, Give It All Back, Just Me Before We Met and Old Joy
