Gorillaz "The Fall"

"Phoner to Arizona" is a nice instrumental start ot the record. While those "Revolving Doors" can get depressing as people pass you by and you feel that you got shafted. The "Hillbilly Man" starts with Albarn singing and then after a minute or so, the beat and the rest come in. "Detroit" is another song sans vocals with nice key loop and percussion, almost like pans. Shy-Town, play on words concerning Chi-Town? "Little Pink Plastic Bags" have these vibrating high notes that sound slightly distorted. "The Joplin Spider" starts with this voiceover, and then it gets into this techno sfx and beat, lasers, and distorted echo-ridden vocals. "The Parish of Space Dust" has this scratchy radio like feed where the transmission is weak and then comes in with some more samples backed by these airy keys and a choir of albarns. Did you hear of the "Snake in Dallas" I was too busy listening to the nice song with the same name with a horn line, and great keys, that end with a robotic Darth Albarn. "Amarillo," or yellow in english has Albarn saying he was lost on the way but "The sun has come to save me,put a little love into my... lonely soul (x2)/(Don't you know I need her loving you? It's no desire...)." The Speak It Mountains" is a countup to seven that has this echo twenty seconds before the song ends. "Aspen Forest"  is a nice stroll until we meet "Bobby In Pheonix' with some nice strumming of the guitar and splashes of funkncountry, and nice vocals from Bobby Womack. "California and The Slipping of The Sun" uses the aids of bloops and sentimental string with a little robotic vocoding and sfx, until the last thirty-five seconds which kicks in with a dance beat and more vocoder-assistaed vocals. The final track is called "Seattle Yodel" and is just 30 seconds of yodeling with slight technical assistance.Overall, the album was okay,but I think I like "Plastic Bleach" much better.Remember I'm an Idiot, and that I don't know what the flip I'm talking about. One of the worst reviews ever. IfIHadTo fall for 7 songs I would fall for: Hillbilly Man, Joplin Spider, Parish of Space Dust, Snake in Dallas, Amarillo, Bobby in Pheonix, and California & The Slipping of The Sun.                                                                                                                                                                                                         

Eddie Vedder "Ukulele Songs"

Now it isn't done in most of the Cd's I have seen, but sometimes the artists like to spell out a sentence with several song titles, and the last one that did this, that I remember, was Filter's "Anthems For The Damned" which used the last three tracks to say In Dreams, Only You, Can Stop This. This time it is the first three tracks saying "Can't Keep Sleeping By Myself Without You." He strums pretty quick on the first two songs "Can't Keep," which reveals tension he has being away from his love, and that he cannot be left wondering if the receiver's feelings are the same, and "Sleeping By Myself" has Vedder singing "I could never go to no one else/The hurt don't show but who knows, time will tell/I believe in nothing/But the pain that I can't see this turning out right/ Oh I'll be sleeping by myself tonight." The first seems more upbeat and the second is less positive, even though it's around the same pace. "Without You" is a slower song and is about a broken or troubled relationship where he sings "I'll keep on healing all the scars/ that we've collected from the start

I'd rather this then live without you." The strumming is nice on the next tune, "More Than You Know," and "Goodbye" can be difficult to say to people, but to a "Broken Heart," it's not so hard which ends in a nice way.  "You were put away for something you didn't do" just strike a cord for some reason on "Satellite" as he says he will wait for that satellite to return, which ends with a ringing phone. Hello? "Hey Fakah," what? You "Longing to Belong?."Track order is reversed,but was sequentially placed for effect, there are some nice strings on the latter, and the former is only 8 seconds, but sounds like a swear word interlude; kinda cute. "You're True" is another bare bones ukulele song that sounds nice when placed beside those "Sleepless Nights"."Once In A While" there is a colaboration that sounds amazing, unforgettable even. the last song was not one of 'em. Just kidding, Glen Hansgard makes a nice vocal partner. "Waving Palms" is short, but sweet While "Tonight You Belong To Me" and "Dream A Little Dream" end the album on a more positive note.It's Time for IFIHadToChoose7SongsIWouldChoose: Can't Keep, Sleeping By Myself, MoreThan You Know, Broken Heart, Longing To Belong, Sleepless Nights, and Dream A Little Dream

Jamie Foxx "Best Night of My Life"

He has a lot of guests on this record and the intro "This Will Be" starts it off nice, We got "Best Night of My Life" smokin reefa wit Wiz Khalifa, livin a "Better Life Now" with the boss Rick Ross, you thought we were down and out but you don't know what you talkin 'bout because you're competing against a winner with Southern King T.I. and JTimbo. We can't forget one of the best songs though "Freak"with this techno flavor and awesome beat,vocal autotune, nice interplay with Rico Love, but no one can "Hit it Like This," but Soulja Boy and Ludacris, "Yep That's Me" which features these three, but if you want to hear J Foxx really use his vox Listen to "Fall For Your Type", or one even better "Gorgeous" are his vocals and the instrumentals, the best of the best don't need no Gucci, Prada, Dolce and Gabbana. To take a break, and think, "Let Me Get You on Your Toes," but if you give me "15 Minutes"  I'll show you I can do Sh{t. man that's sick, but not ill, why don't I take a "Sleeping Pill," so the fight with insomnia is not so rambunctious. Let's "Rejoice" with great soulful vocals and great slow jam solo. "All Said and Done" I know I'm not the one, easily defeated in a battle of wits with those no better than twits but got the gift of spit and what a number one... hit if it was played on the radio great song all around, but what's funny is the double entendre in "Sex on The Beach"  IfIHadToChoose 7 Tracksto start the best nights of my life they may be: Best Night of My Life, Winner, FREAK, Fall For Your Type,GORGEOUS, Rejoice, All Said and Done.

A STORM OF EPIC AMAZINGNESS IS ON YOUR WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The reason I had not posted anythging in several weeks was because I was finishing listening to and revieqwing the rest of the 200 cds to reach my goal!!! now all that's needed is some editing and pics...yes, don't expect the quality of your favorite or (un)favorite music critics because my caliber is low,but I write my way. I hope they are somewhat interesting to you, kinda clever and somewhat accurate. YOU be the judge,but be prepared cause they're coming. What's that smell? oh.......mediocrity.

F*ck Buttons "Tarot Sport"

Techno-surfing in the solar system! Dancing on the board and doing the two step. "Surf Solar" just gives the feet the urge to move,even if dancing is not an option, moving is.OHH digital waves! WATCHOUT! Call me silver, But I'm no surfer; I envision surfing the solar system like on though. Distortion at the end has dissonance and reverberates until we get to the "Rough Steez" which picks up where track one left off. Heavy feedback and distortion which then brings the tribal drums, or a horse's trot, and key sfx. "The Lisbon Maru" has this steady marching band drum-style beat, just music to help you think. You don't need to be all in to experience the music,but you can experience it as you think. Calling all "Olympians," I..uh...wait a second the song is only 10:54? It feels longer, and again another song that you can just listen to while working on something else, nice ambience. Uh Oh...I think someone is offfended by my ignorance. Don't be so sensitive, please; cutting off someone's hand for typing something not completely informed is too extreme, and how would you think it would feel to have a "Phantom Limb?" I know I should say something, I mean I have something to say, and I think it's there, but...THERE IS NOTHING! wierd. OMG! one of my favorite rides of all time is "Space Mountain," I think I'm back in space again, but this time slowly careening in space with a couple...big rocks. Meteor Shower! Good thing it's like the movies where it's going in slow-mo and you can easily maneuver around them.Uh Oh, I see something. If I move quickly and quietly I can avoid the "Flight of the Feasthered Serpent" Dang! The beat tripped me up and my board is spinning out of control. I didn't think this would be the type of music that would play during my freefall. The beat is picking up I am descending even faster now.I Told You I'm not a writer, and I suffered that blackout about an hour ago. OH yeah, and since there are exactly seven songs on this record the feature is void once again.                                                     

Beach House "Teen Dream"

"Zebra" is a great way to start a record with awesome instrumentals and wonderful vocal delivery."Silver Soul" with shimmery guitar intro and keys, and heartfelt vocals. It seems like a trip to "Norway" may be a good idea.Where you thinkin' that you gotta run now? Why don't we take a "Walk in the Park?" Take a stroll, do some thinking, and just enjoy the music. "Used to Be" so easy to write a simple review, but a bobbing beat and the keys make this line "As the sun grows high and you serve your time, does each day just feel like another lie?" not as sour. Ah to be in Love! "Oh you hear my cry, lover of mine/ No tear in the eye or fear in my mind" To feel the need to sing and dance" In a wide open field we know we can feel/Awake and unreal, off to nowhere."  Sometimes relationships may only take a small crack to break the ceramic heart, which leaves the will misguided and does the wrong thing in hopes for "Better Times." This song has a female vocalist on this song, wow that is dense."10 Mile Stereo" has this lovely intro, and driving bluegrass-like beat (muted) and some cymbal crashes at the last minute and a half. What is "Real Love," but a song that gives the heart courage to carry on. What is it that has us running so blind into the flames of romance? If there is some good advice of those about to enter this game of hearts, which can be one of the most dangerous of all games, emotionally and psychologically, is that you should "Take Care." Speed may get there faster, but if you want to get there and stay there, or have a stronger and more "longevitous" relationship, slowly and surely(carefully) is the way to go. Neil Young "Fork In The Road"

An album inspired by Young's re-vamped Lincoln Continental and an album that was overlooked, but is pretty good for what it is. "When Worlds Collide" is a great start, but I think "Fuel Line" which is explicitly dedicated to his car is where the inspiration filled his think-tank, and sings: "The world is ready for a whole new game/Some old-timers wanna stay the same/They like to advertise how clean and green they are (Keep filling that fuel line) (Keep filling that old fuel line)(Keep filling that fuel line) (Keep filling that old fuel line)/But she don't listen to what they say/She burned the mess they clean instead/She don't use much though, that's smart for a car." "Just Singing a Song" cannot change the world is a true statement, as he sings about people trying to do just that by singing a song,when really there is much more to be done before the world can change. "Johnny Magic" is about a guy who  has a good connection to all things metallic and automobiles; another good song. "Cough Up The Bucks" is a song with a rap-style like delivery and refrain of "cough up the bucks" and asking where did all the money go, is the line outta gas?green? Not much in the lyric department, and neither is the next one, but stop dillydallying and  "Get Behind the Wheel" which is another good rocker to listen to before you get "Off The Road" which is a slow song with some nice backing group vocals, and has its strong sentiments and emotion. OK, that's enough of sentimental lonely feeling, Let's "Hit The Road" which is another great rocker to listen to, and a good driving song to listen to. A little twang never hurt any one, and neither did introspection, but attempting to "Light a Candle" at first try can hurt. The final song "Fork In The Road" leaves on a good or bad note depending on which side you choose. Check out the lyrics to this one; alot of commentary.
