Taproot "Plead The Fifth"
This band often has some surprisingly beautiful harmonies, that can easily wither because they are occasionally suffocated by a dense and aggressive sound. The funny thing is that this Taproot system allows those melodies to breathe. So, did they commit murder? I Plead The Fifth.
The opening rhythm is not the only thing ordering you to “Now Rise.” The lyrics bring you to a courtroom, which would make an interesting video, and Richards may get your blood pumping as he opens with the scream. I am inclined to compare Richards’ vocals with that of Jonathan Davis in this song. With the pronounced use of the baritone guitar, as on their first two records, they are able to sound heavier without intending to; the instrumentals sound like early aughties Lifehouse, Incubus or Matchbox Twenty. It may be “Game Over,” but we’re only on the second level. Recess is over, we now must bring the defendant up for questioning. The truth is “Fractured?” No, everything I said was true, but she only tells one side. This may be the hookiest songs they have written, and that is saying something; after listening to the two records before this one, and even their first two records (to some extent). The first few seconds throw you for a loop; you’re not sure where they are going with it. Then you are like "Release Me” from this swaying ship in the stormy sea. I feel these shackles around me, but no clue as to where the fate lies. However, in "Stolage" we learn that the answer lies in Richards, but I am more intrigued by the accomplices and their choice in instrumentals in the following tracks (including this one). As soon as we thought the questioning was over, another incident was brought to the attention of the judge in “911ost,” but the informant remains anonymous until I figure it out. This does not deal with the former case, but involves two others as to where you were a witness. “Are you able to simultaneously mediate two different scenarios involving two sets of defendants?” I did not go to law-school, but if you can answer my question as to your awareness of this crime of e-stalking, as well a blood-pumping percussion and infectious hooks, to the point that it might be declared “trafficking” on “Trophy WiFi?” It makes you want to scream, does it not? “YES! But I cannot.” I will ask more questions when that date arrives, but now back to the task at hand. Quiet! “You’re right, I feel that it is worthless to say anymore, because most often ‘Words Don’t Mean A Thing' because people say things to get what they want.” "It can be said that 'No View is True' as well. How one's opinion can stifle or mold another's, or how anything taken out of context can persuade someone to believe the opposite of what was stated or what occurred" Of course, so it means that one's opinion isn't truly their own; that is not necessarily a problem as long as one's opinion isn't formed solely on convenience, but who am I to judge? HA! I think I just made a punny. As for the second part, deception is the subliminal desire to destroy trust in one another" the arbitration was declared. "So what does this have to do with the case at hand?!" the prosecution demanded an answer. "Everything." A litany of premature puffs caused the eyes to roll as the reason for the fuss was failed to be deciphered, until it became apparent that a doppelganger was in their mist. "I have proof that every one of these jurors were bribed, whether they chose to take it or not, as well as other evidence that defy these other claims." The prosecution was outraged and cried "Blasphemy!" The words could not detract the witness from the certainty of truth. "I have the evidence, but you just need to see it for yourself" as he attempted to hand the envelope to the judge, the bailiff intercepted the package. "Who are you, and how did you manage to receive this intel?" the host of the trial queried. The courtroom crasher remained silent as he attempted to exit. Upon hearing the word "everyone" uttered from the mysterious guest, they presumed what was in that package was a bomb. "You stay right there, or I will hold you in contempt of court!" the guest was threatened. "How on Earth could he have entered with a bomb?" one of the guards thought. The witness turned around and began to open his coat; upon impulse, the other guard shot the interloper in the torso. The defendant felt a sharp pain in his back, as thousands of tiny needles seemed to drill through his skin, and fainted from what could have been perceived as sheer surprise. The intruder seemed to slip through the door unnoticed; unless he was never there. As a cacophony of exclamations caused aural claustrophobia, the lungs of the defendant were caving in, as the last breath was released. Seemingly random, irreverent and irrelevant to the current scenario, the judge mentions how that chorus of 'No View is True' is unforgettable, and the "Stares" he receives are priceless. "You have all been witnesses to an even grander machination than once believed" as he reads a note that was handwritten on one of the pieces of evidence: "This is to clear my conscience of the guilt I have summoned by my treachery. I originally planned to frame the defendant out of spite, and lust for his "main squeeze"; I wanted to earn my place as her number one lover, and she said the only way I could do that was to avenge her sister's distaste for him (long story). Everything went according to plan, but recently I decided that I could not live with myself for dishonoring my own flesh and blood; so this is why you are reading this. As for myself, I was the one who committed the crimes of murder, and indirectly, brought that girl to tears and fear for her life; who in turn, contacted the police because of it. Considering how you fared today, the pursuit will not be easy; I am sure of it. I'm not saying it's going to be a cake walk for me, but it's going to be challenging (for both of us). Good Luck."
