Justin Bieber "Believe"
We only get one time to make a first impression, and yes I understand he was in-between teens, but at the time I was just “this is silly.” Some people may say something a lot worse, and not just "ridiculous." However, after finding some of his better songs and learning more about Justin I gained more respect for Mr. Bieber . I’m all about second chances, and learning more about him made me a fan, and this album helped me Believe. I don’t know if he searched “All Around the World” to make a worthwhile collaboration follow-up, but he and Ludacris did it again! I love Ludacris’ lyrics more this time around, and everybody can relate to the chorus “…'Cuz all around the world people want to be loved (yeah)/'Cuz all around the world they're no different than us (no).” Swaggy, you got it! “Boyfriend” is a stellar single and song, but it does remind me of a fading star who still willed himself to shine on even after the fame waned. What can I say except “As Long As You Love Me” I’ll probably love you back. Yes, that was lame and cheesy, but this song is not. Another hit single for a reason, and while Big Sean and the Hova reference were nice, it was those and the rest of the elements working together to bring it back. I hate “Catching Feelings” for someone who couldn’t care less, but it happens a lot. Who cannot relate to that? Except the situation in the song is different, anyways, the vocals sound even better on this track. I’m sure the arrangement helped, but Justin can croon a mean tune. The latin influence may be nonchalant, but its presence may “Take You” out; you might even get to Breathe Carolina. “Say we'll be together/ Selfish of me to ask since I be the reason we don't last forever/Wish that you knew all that I do to make this thing go right.” Even stay “Right Here” to lift you up, be your guiding light. That devotion to another, and not just to your mother…is a sign that the biebs is growing up. Whether to “Fall” in love or “Die In Your Arms,” is not a question because I have already fallen, but there is no safety net. So I can only hope that you will be there during my last few minutes as I listen to my swan song. It can score a trip to heaven, it is that good! “I can't help it, I'm just selfish/There's no way that I could share you/That would break my heart to pieces.” The falsetto notes he hits on this next track remind me of Jason Derulo, but at the same time I’m in love with the “Thought of You.” The funky disco production and the verse from Ms. Minaj are top-notch in “Beauty and a Beat.” Obviously, this will make their body rock, but not as much as the thought of you, Mr. Bieber; the girl beliebers may even sing don’t you want me? It can be difficult to live at times; whether you’re being bullied or just feel like everything’s going the other way it will eventually “Be Alright.” It just might take a while, so find a friend who will always try to be there for you, and the music for when you feel no one else can help. “There were days when I was just broken, you know/There were nights when I was doubting myself/But you kept my heart from falling” and I “Believe” that this can be about the relationship he has with his beliebers. The positive message he stresses and the phrase that was the title of his (first) movie. Who else is going to read it, but beliebers? So why do I need to ..ok. NEVER…SAY…NEVER!!!! He might have borrowed from both the Michael Jackson and R Kelly handbooks for this one. The bonus tracks are all worth multiple listens: “Out of Town Girl” is just bad-a--, especially with the flamenco flourish. While “She Don’t like The Lights,” the spotlight is on her; I think this is dedicated toward Selena, but I could be wrong. This could be a Breezy song, and at times he even sounds like him, but that does not detract from its addictive nature, like fame? “Maria” may have wanted to become famous, and she almost has. The song dedicated to the mother of his first child! Gasp! “Maria, why you wanna do me like that?/That ain't my baby, that ain't my girl/Maria, why you wanna play me like that?” Her jealousy and smear campaign rewarded her with her own song, and the feeling of being (in)famous. Overall, there are many songs about love, and why not? Love will always be a relevant topic in music; especially for teens and young adults. You can see the artistic, as well as personal, growth on what has been compared to that moment when Britney Spears was in transit. An album that may convert the haters, but only if they actually give it a chance!
