My Morning Jacket "Circuital"

"Should I close my eyes and prophesize" someday soon a "Victory Dance" will come? This slow burner really starts nice with some horns, and then slowly builds until 4:35 where there is something coming when those background vocals come in and the guitar riff until the attack of drums and other noise. You know when your ear rings? Well, they sort of end it like that. The title track is another slow burner, but after two minutes it has some rocking guitar and piano follows later after four minutes; I'm thinkin' Petty thoughts. I notice Jim James does sound like Neil Young. The whisper of James, that gets a little louder and the restrained percussion of the Hallahan work real well with the light country flavor. "The Day is Coming" has real lovely backing harmonies, some nice hornfades ; we can even say that the song is "Wonderful (The Way I Feel)," which was supposed to be a Muppets song, and I can see why, but don't think the song is bad,oh no, on the contrary ; it's a beautiful acoustic guitar led that has flossing strings, and dang..now I'm thinking of Kermit playing his guitar and singing this. I had to get the negativity "Outta My System," which  recalls a drug-troubled past, and starts real downbeat, but once the hihtap and twang, cute piano, and  change of beat is up, it sounds a lot more positive."The luster of youth versus married security/I’m glad I’m here now, but just between you and me." First Light" has some classic horn and funk going on; you may want to bring out that air guitar, or maybe some dancing shoes. "You Wanna Freak Out"which has this twangy reverb and that rock  that when a song is finishing up they do hard strums,a little bit. The rhythm section is one of those hovering instances, it sounds kinda high. Float-Ing- Float-ing, shouldn't have smoked that much. I'm part cra-zy now that the stuff's a crutch. We now present a "Slow Slow Tune," which has some nice guitar and picks up in the second half. It's time to be "Movin Away" in this sentimental piano number, or at leats take partr in a slow dance. Another superb album, but if i could only choose 5 would choose: Victory Dance, The Day is Coming, Holdin' On To Black Metal, First Light, and You Wanna Freak Out.
